This large manufactured of beer was short-lived due to the onset of prohibition which took effect on January 1, 1916. The company transitioned to the Overland Beverage Company which soft-drinks, cider and grape juice.
When Prohibition was repealed in 1933, the Lockmans returned to brewing beer until the mid-1940s.
