Description

Homer was born in Caldwell and moved to Nampa at a young age. His first job was selling cattle at the Saturday saleyard (a local auction). He recalls people migrating from the Midwest to Nampa in search of work during the Great Depression, and living in makeshift homes in Hooverville. Homer began working for the PFE shop, an icing plant and car repair shop, in 1937.
